Shamanic ways for intuition not superstition
I hope the often heralded contemporary revival of ageless shamanic wise ways doesn't get confounded by the re-institution of religions and superstitions! I hope and dream humankind is evolving out of fearful collectivism caused by inherited patterns of submission to "higher" Power(s) and greater authorities. I hold an intention for Ourkind's ongoing evolution towards voluntary cooperation centered around direct life experiencing. For me shamanic ways, rediscovered by modern anthropologists, access ways of knowing reality through imagination and intuition, not through 'the supernatural' (which, by definition, does not exist).
Albert Einstein wrote, "The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this." I only halfway agree and instead write that for me the word god(s) and the supernatural express humankind's embodiment of genetic, naturally selected for, once more helpful than harmful brain hardwiring - that is constantly being debugged and upgraded!
During our prehistory the hardwiring for seeking the Highest Authority got crossed with the hardwiring for experiencing Ecstasy - but the problem must have helped us stick together through adversities. I am supposing that the inherited patterns behind humankind's 'hardwiring' problems are complex, not able to be reduced to one or two cause explanations in one or two fields of science or traced to any one level or aspect of human functioning.
I hope Nature's ongoing debugging is untangling ecstatic states of consciousness from Authority seeking tendencies. I hope Authority seeking is being tweaked into Questioning. A key ongoing upgrade may be our increasing ability to synthesize many ways of knowing.
I hold to the notion that many ways of knowing complement one another in existence and consciousness throughout this multidimensional multi-level multiverse of interwoven universal strands, that appears at once like a continuum and a tower of building blocks in physics formulas and artistic imaginings. Inner-teaching through shamanic ways brings intuitive knowledge to life in the ordinary world through expressive arts while science brings outer knowledge to life in and as us - and probably other Life-kinds - living new technologies.
